Mono Printing Workshop

Mono Printing Workshop

Mono printing is an ideal introduction to becoming involved in making 'art'. It is an enjoyable and exciting way to create a masterpiece - that you will get to take home and be proud of.

Mono printing is a form of printmaking that has lines or images that can only be made once, unlike other printmaking where there are multiple originals. There is a magic to the process of mono printing, the final result is often an unexpected surprise, sometimes developed by accident.

This fun and informal workshop is designed for those with no drawing and painting skills, as well as those who wish to develop their basic skills. Your day will begin with an introduction to mono printing and the prominent artists that have used the technique within their work. Following a demonstration, you will have the opportunity to practice and develop your own skills, whilst working towards producing a main artistically created mono print masterpiece. You will head home with a collection of practice pieces as well as your final masterpiece - all of which, we are confident, will be worthy of being framed and admired.

Your tutor will be on hand to guide and encourage as much or as little as you choose. It really is a day to relax, explore and surprise yourself.

All tools and equipment will be provided, as will workshop aprons, however if you could bring along with you a sketch book and pen to make any notes, that would be useful. Those with previous experience of mono printing are welcome to bring with them any hand tools such as rollers and perspex they may have. So you can continue to develop your skills after your workshop, A4 mounts and perspex will be available to purchase on the day, if required.

Your day will start at 10.00am and conclude at 4.00pm, with a pause for lunch partway through the day. This workshop is limited to 8.
