Christmas Snowmen Needle Felting Workshop - Sunday 9th December 2018
Needle felting is a fascinating craft and this workshop is the perfect introduction for any beginner – and a great day out for those with a little experience. And, as this workshop is one of our festive workshops, it has a fantastically festive theme!
If you have ever felted your favourite woollen jumper by accidentally putting it in the wash, you are already familiar with the felting process! When wool is agitated, it sticks together, creating a solid fabric. Dry needle felting mimics that process, but instead of agitating the wool with hot water, you are using a needle – making it possible to make not just 2D but 3D objects.
Your experienced tutor will guide you through the making process, sharing her knowledge and experience of needle felting along the way. A snowman may measure between 8cm and 12cm. Depending on the size and detail you choose, you will have the opportunity to make 2 or 3 snowmen during the day.
One of the many joys of needle felting is that you can easily add your own individual touches. Your snowmen will make the most gorgeous decorations, decorations to proudly sit on your mantelpiece or hang on your Christmas tree, to treasure for years. You will of course also head home with the skills to make many more snowmen, perfect for the gift giving season.
This workshop really will be a creative and crafty day! The workshop will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm. All the materials and equipment will be provided and additional materials will be available to purchase on the day should you wish to make more when you get home. As with all of our workshops, there will be a pause for lunch, which is also provided.
